Bread tikki

Bread tikkis is a good option for evening snack. It can also be deep fried making small round balls like pakoras but I have chosen to shallow fry it keeping in mind the calorie count ;-)

Ingredients-

For tikkis-
8-10 bread slices (brown or white depending on your choice)
1 onion chopped finely
1/4 cup coriander leaves chopped finely
1 tbsp red chili powder or green chillies finely chopped, adjust the spiciness as per your taste
1/2 cup rawa
2 tbsp maida
1/4 cup curd
Salt as per taste
1 tbsp sesame seeds

For green chutney-

Blend together 1 cup coriander leaves,  1 or 2 green chillies, 7-8 garlic cloves, 1/2 lemon juice, 1 tsp sugar, salt, 1 tbsp dessicated coconut, 1 tbsp ground nut powder and little bit water

Recipe-
1) Cut breads into small pieces, you can remove the edges as well. Then grind it through mixer to get a coarse powder.

2) Add all other ingredients mixing well to form a dough. Adjust the quantity of curd and rawa accordingly while forming the dough.

3) Take a small ball of this mixture and press it gently between your palms to form a tikki. Make such tikkis with the remaining dough. Pour 2 tbsp oil in a non stick pan and shallow fry the tikkis till golden brown.
If you are going to shallow fry it, then make sure the tikkis are very thin. If deep frying it then make small balls, coat it with bread crumbs or vermicelli and then deep fry it.

4) Drain it on an absorbent paper.

Serve the tikkis hot with green chuney.
